A new immigration program backed by U.S. President Donald Trump is offering wealthy foreign nationals and companies an accelerated route to U.S. residency. Branded the “Trump Gold Card,” the visa comes with a fee of $1 million for individual applicants and $2 million for corporate sponsors.

The initiative, which officially launched this week, allows approved applicants to apply for permanent residency under existing EB-1 or EB-2 visa categories. A $15,000 processing fee must be paid to the Department of Homeland Security, with further government fees possibly required depending on the case.

The program is open to applicants who can show they will bring measurable value to the United States. Trump announced the rollout through social media, calling it a “direct path to Citizenship” for eligible applicants. He added that the program would help American businesses keep global talent.

The program, which was first announced earlier this year, promises residency in what the official website describes as “record time.” After submitting the application and processing fee, applicants must complete a visa interview and provide any required documentation.

In addition to the standard Gold Card, a separate tier, the “Trump Platinum Card,” will also be launched soon. This version will require a $5 million contribution and offers certain tax benefits.

Applicants under this tier will be permitted to remain in the United States for up to 270 days per year without being taxed on income earned outside the country. To apply for the Platinum Card, individuals must also pay the $15,000 DHS fee. Foreign nationals may sign up now to secure a place on the waiting list.

Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, speaking to Fox News, described the program as an upgraded alternative to traditional green cards. He said the initiative is structured to attract high-net-worth individuals who can contribute economically from day one.

Once the application and fee are submitted, and all required steps are completed, approvals are expected to be issued within weeks.
