Dominica suspends new applications from Yemeni nationals for the CBI Program
Published on: 16 January 2024

According to an official notice sent by the Citizenship by Investment Unit (CBIU) of the Commonwealth of Dominica to all authorized agents, the Government of Dominica will suspend the processing of all new applications from Yemeni nationals for the Citizenship by Investment Program, effective January 19, 2024.

The CBIU stated that this measure aims to safeguard the global community and maintain the integrity of Dominica’s Citizenship by Investment Program.

Additionally, it should be highlighted that the current ban on applications for Dominica’s Citizenship by Investment Program extends to nationals from Northern Iraq (specifically from certain areas including the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, namely from the cities of Erbil, Amedi, Dahuk, Kirkuk, Lalish, Raniya, Soran, Sulaymaniyah, and Zakho), as well as nationals of Russia and Belarus. This follows a similar decision by the Government of Dominica in March 2022 to suspend the processing of applications from Russian and Belarusian nationals. Furthermore, citizens of Sudan and North Korea are ineligible to apply for the program unless they meet specific conditions, which include residing in another country for more than 10 years, not possessing significant assets in those countries, and not engaging in business or trade activities either within or in association with the countries.
