On February 20, 2023, the Citizenship by Investment Unit of Saint Lucia officially communicated to authorized agents that it will not be accepting applications for Saint Lucia citizenship by investment from Iranian citizens.
Despite the Citizenship Unit in St. Lucia’s decision to allow applications for Saint Lucia citizenship from Iranian citizens five months ago, it has now declared that it will no longer accept such applications as a result of its monitoring of the ongoing global challenges. The memorandum also indicated that Saint Lucia also does not currently accept applications from Russian or Belarusian citizens to obtain Saint Lucia citizenship by investment.
Notwithstanding St. Lucia’s recent decision to suspend applications from Iranian citizens, other countries offer citizenship by investment programs that accept applications from Iranian citizens, with Dominica and Turkey being the most noteworthy among them.
